Lakes and Lancashire SpoCo 2005 - Rules
1. The competition is open to any rider whose club is affiliated to "Lakes and Lancashire SpoCo" at a cost of £10 per club. Any club can affiliate. Individual riders do not have to make any claims for points since they are awarded automatically following club affiliation.
2. Competitors are only eligible for points in events following club affiliation.
3. The competition is run on a points basis. For each event 120 points are awarded for first place, decreasing by 1 point for each subsequent place. Riders who are not in SpoCo affiliated clubs will be disregarded in the points allocation. Only competitors appearing on the result sheet will be awarded points.
4. There are 23 qualifying events (see attached list of events). Riders can enter as many events as they wish. The general competition is determined by each riders best 8 results, but the youth and junior prizes will be based on the best 4 results.
5. A detailed league table will be displayed at each counting event and sent to clubs at regular intervals to enable teams and individuals to monitor their progress.
6. Riders not completing the required number of events will be eliminated from the final league table and will not be eligible for prizes or count towards the team prize. This minimum number of events to qualify may be reduced if more than two events are cancelled. However, the best 8 results will still determine the prizes.
7. Prize categories: Seniors; Ladies; Youths; Juniors; Trikes; Veterans over 40; Veterans over 50; Veterans over 60; Veterans over 70 and Teams of 3. Prizes will be awarded in each category only if there are at least two qualifiers.

9. A rider who changes club during the competition will transfer his/her points to the new club provided the competition has not passed the first event in May. Thereafter, the rider will continue to be identified (for SpoCo purposes) with the old club and continue to accumulate points for that club.
10. Each club will nominate a SpoCo contact who is responsible for displaying Lakes and Lancashire SpoCo information at club gatherings. The SpoCo organiser will send out regular mailings throughout the duration of the competition.
11. Ties for the prize categories in the final league table will be resolved by counting the number of 1st places. If still equal, 2nd places will be counted, then 3rds etc.
