| Undulating, but gradually climbing until
the steep descent of Hucks brow after 8 miles, then a
1-mile climb to the finish. |

details - (Cumdivock circuit x 2) Cumdivock,
left towards East Curthwaite, left to Rosley School, left
to junction B5303 at Rosley, along B5303 to Goose Green,
left on B5299 through Welton to Hawkesdale, left to
Cumdivock. Repeat and finish just short of HQ |
| A fairly tortuous first 5 miles with lots of climbs
on narrow roads. From Rosley to Goose Green is a long
gradual drag on a main road. From Goose Green to
Hawkesdale is mainly downhill on a good smooth road. From
Hawkesdale to the start/finish area is flat, but very
twisty and narrow. |

School. Course details - Start at Belsay
on the Bolam Lakes road, 100 yds North of the junction of
the A696. Proceed to Bolam Lakes, Scots Gap (8.5m) and
turn left, then right to Rothley crossroads and straight
ahead to Ewesley Station, Coldrife, Forestburn Gate,
Garleigh Summit (15.2m) and descend to Rothbury (17.6m).
Bear left immediately after the bridge, past Rothbury
church, and left again to Thropton. Bear left down ban k
to Flotterton at the end of village and bear left to
Hepple (23.2m). Continue straight ahead to Billsmoor
timed climb. Proceed to Elsdon (29.2m) and turn left at
the end of the village to climb the Gibbet (1:6 or 1:7).
Proceed to Harwood Gate House ( 35.4m) and turn right
onto the B6342 for 1.5m where turn right and proceed to
Knowesgate (38.5m). Turn onto the A696 towards Belsay.
Half a mile north of Belsay take the slip road to the
left and finish {47 miles} |
| The course is most definitely "Mountain"
rather than "Hilly". Steepest gradient is
1 in 6, and there are some significant climbs. |

| HQ: Houghton Village Hall(TBC) Course
details - 2x Laps of Canonbie By-Pass START at the white mark on the kerb approximately 100 yards north of Greymoorhill Roundabout (Junction 44 M6) on the A7 road. Proceed north through Longtown to TURN in road (CAUTION) at two white marks on opposite sides of the road 0.10 mile south of a retaining wall on the Canonbie by-pass (12.57 miles). Retrace south on the A7 to FINISH at the white mark on the kerb opposite the north end of the boundary wall of the cottage approximately 200 yards north of the start (25 MILES).
