Wallis Cycles builds road and race bikes to meet every need, we can also tailor your cycle if you have special requirements or need special components.

This cycle was made for Mrs Ward who has arthritic knees, she required a cycle that was light and easy to step over. This cycle has a low alloy frame, for easy step over, and an adjustable stem to raise the bars to the correct height.
The cycle was made up with Mrs Ward's existing wheels and we used Shimano Sora reach adjustable STi's and Acera MTB Mechs, ITM Millenium full Carbon Forks and Carbon Seatpost to reduce weight and increase comfort. The gearing was kept very low by using a Suntour 22/34/42 front chainset and MTB Cassette, this gave an excellent spread of low gears enabling Mrs Ward to enjoy her cycling again!

We at Wallis Cycles take great pride in helping everyone enjoy the benefits of cycling, even those with disablilties. These stabilisers were specially designed and strenghened for Mrs Hinds disabled son. He is a young lad who has difficulty with his balance and needs stabilisers, but standard ones were not strong enough. So we designed and made these strengthened ones for him. He can now ride his bike without worrying that his stabilisers are going to collapse.

One of our customers Mrs M. Wignall was the victim of an accident four years ago which left her with a damaged wrist. This made it very difficult for her to change gear with the downtube levers that were on the bike. She tried Ergo/Sti levers but also found these difficult. So I thought of a solution by fitting a Shimano Revoshift to the drops of the bars on her race bike. She found this perfect and on the 24th of November she went for her first ride for 4 years!.

"Dear Martin, Just to say thanks a million for your work on my bike. Your idea to fit a Revoshift grip gear changer to the drops is brilliant. This has made it possible for me to operate the gears easily with hardly any discomfort to my hand. Also the fitment of an alternative stem assembly has noticeably reduced my forward body weight on my hands. Riding my bike is now pleasurable. The conversions have enabled me to return to cycling after four years. Thanks again, Maureen Wignall."
Special work with Ribble Valley Juniors
We have worked in conjunction with the Ribble Valley Junior Club to provide and maintain various different sized road bikes, for the use of their club members. This involved sourcing rare components for the smaller bikes and upgrading them with index gears for ease of use. These bikes have been used for lesuire and racing, and can be seen around Walton-le-Dale CP School at around 10am Saturdays or racing at Preston Sports Arena. We also built some full size road bikes for the teenagers at the club, these were fitted with special gearing to allow them to be able to manage the climbs around the local area, such as the Trough of Bowland.
